Turner “TELEX” Road King 56 is hands down the best noise cancelling mic ever made. Was the best. In around 2017, the company was taken over and they stopped using the phenomenal mic element from the past.
If you have an old one, or can get your hands on one that’s in the spare locker in the shop, grab it. But it has to say “TELEX” embossed on the back cover.
If you find one, have it rebuilt. New cord, new plug and new switch, and you will be golden. I go as far as 3D printing the mouth guard if it’s missing and painting the screen after I pick out the old egg sandwich pieces from it. It might cost double the price of a new mic, but you won’t match that audio. If you know me, I’m all about the audio.
